Exploring the Products of Milk


In Day-to-day life we use milk for our nutrition , sometimes it is called as Complete food. We use milk of different animals like Cows , Buffaloes, Goat etc.. 
Also we prepare and uses different products of Milk.i.e. 
'Ghrita , Dadhi, Buttermilk, Butter and many'.


so first of all we will discuss of Ghrita.


Ghrita - Ghee


Ayurveda believes that best substance for improving intelligence is Ghee. The memory, integrity, keenness of digestion, longevity, semen and eye sight is improved by its use. It is good for children, the aged, tenderness of the body and a pleasant voice. It is also useful for those suffering from emaciation due to injury to chest, herpes, injury from weapons, and fire, disorders of vata and pitta origin, and poison. It is useful in cases of insanity, tuberculosis, inauspicious activity and fevers. It is the best among fatty substances for oleation and other therapies. It is cold in potency and is the best for retaining youthfulness. By thousand kinds of its uses the ghrta is capable to provide a thousand good effects.


Old Ghee

Intoxication, epilepsy, fainting, diseases of the head, ear, eye and female reproductive organs can be cured by consuming old ghee. It cleanses and heals the wounds as well.
Eatables like kilata, piyusa, kurcika and morana are strengthening. They promote semen, sleep and kapha. However, they generate constipation and are hard to digest. They also provoke all the three dosas.


Dadhi - Curds


At the end of digestion dadhi becomes sour in taste. It is water absorbent and thus it causes constipation. Curd is hard to digest and hot in potency. It however, actuates vata, promotes fat, semen, strength, kapha, pitta, rakta, and digestion. It causes oedema, improves taste, is ideal for use in loss of taste, in diseases of the duodenum, intermittent fever associated with cold, chronic rhinitis, dysuria. The dadhi devoid of its fat is ideal.

Forbidding the use of Dadhi

At night curd should not be taken. It should not be made hot. It should not be consumed during the spring, summer, and autumn. Even in other seasons, it should not be taken taken without the addition of the soup of green gram, honey, ghee, sugar candy and amalaka. It should not be used daily nor when it is not well formed. Otherwise, complications like fever, bleeding diseases, herpes, leprosy and other skin diseases, anaemia and giddiness could disturb user.

Takra - The buttermilk


The buttermilk is easy to digest, astringent and sour in taste. It stimulates hunger. The kapha and vata are actuated by this. It is also capable to cure dropsy, enlargement of stomach, haemorrhoids, duodenal diseases, dysuria, loss of taste or appetite, enlargement of spleen, abdominal tumor. Complications arising from excessive consumption of ghee during oleation theraphy as well as the artificial poisons and anaemia are also controlled by the intake of buttermilk.

Watery parts of curds 

In terms of its properties, the watery part of curds (mastu) is similar to takra. It cleanses the channels and relieves one from constipation, and in addition to this it helps in easy movement of bowels.

Butter 


Butter is aphrodisiac and cold in potency. It improves the complexion of the skin, strength and digestion and it also absorbs water. It is capable to cure different disorders of vata, pitta, blood and tuberculosis, haemorrhoids, facial paralysis and cough. Butter obtained from milk is water absorbent. Bleeding diseases and disease of the eye can be cured by its regular consumption.


The milk and its product which is obtained from cows are considered the best while those obtained from ewe's milk is considered the least useful in properties.
